resize digital pictures

If you have a lot of high-resolution photos, but you want to quickly resize them to a smaller size so you can share them more easily or upload them to a webpage, check out DropResize.

DropResize runs in the system tray and basically monitors a folder that you specify for new images and then automatically resizes them to whatever you height and width you prefer. It does keep the aspect ratio. As of right now, it only supports JPEG images, but the next release will support more.

View large/high-resolution images online using Seadragon

If you have a SLR camera, it’s probably way over 10 megapixels. Some of the really fancy SLR cameras are more than 20 megapixels! One picture can be a massive size, 10 to 20 megabytes. If you want to share a really high-resolution picture with friends, you can’t unless you upload it somewhere and they download it to their PC.

Seadragon is a cool service from Microsoft that lets you upload really large pictures and lets you view it using their picture viewer. It’s way cool because you can make it full screen and zoom in and out by clicking.

Find all instances of an image using TinEye

reverse image search[6]

Ever heard of a reverse image search? Basically, you upload a picture to the search engine and it will search billions of images online and tell you where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or if there are higher resolutions. Pretty neat!
