widget context

Widget Context is a cool plugin for the WordPress platform that lets you control the pages on which a WordPress widget is shown. So if you have a widget that you only want to appear on the blog homepage, it’s a piece of cake.

Other options for filtering the pages where you want a widget to appear include single post pages, a WordPress page, search pages, archives, tag pages, author pages, and 404 pages. Neat!

Search for and listen to music using Google

leave a comment

google music search

Google is rolling out a new feature in its search results today called Music Search. Now when you search for some music-related, like a song title, artist, or album name, you’ll also see links to an audio preview of the song provided by MySpace or Lala.

You can also search the lyrics to a song, find the song, listen to it and purchase it, all links now being included in the search result pages themselves. Great way to find new music! Very cool!

How to recall a sent message in Gmail

unsend email message gmail

Ever click the Send button on an email you really should not have sent in the first place? Or maybe you didn’t finish the email, but clicked Send by accident. In either case, you can enable the Undo Send feature in Gmail Labs that basically waits a few seconds before actually sending the email in case you want to undo it. Nice!

Digital Inspiration has a great guide on how to expand your music collection by using free services such as Pandora and Last.fm, which first figure out what music you like and then use advanced algorithms to find similar music.
