Of course, you already know that if you want to delete all traces of your internet browsing, you have to clear the History, delete the cookies and use one of the stealth modes in the new browsers.

disable taskbar preview windows 7

With Windows 7 comes the new taskbar thumbnail previews when you hover your mouse over an open program. It’s pretty cool and I like it a lot, but for those you prefer not to see the previews of your programs, you can disable taskbar thumbnails via a registry hack.

With Windows 7 comes a new slew of keyboard shortcuts that, if you learn, will turn you into a keyboard ninja! I practically never even use the mouse anymore because keyboard shortcuts can do just about everything.

Lifehacker has written a great post on all of the new Windows 7 shortcuts that include stuff like docking a window to half of the screen and minimizing everything but the current window.

How to set Status Updates as default on your Facebook Homepage

leave a comment

show only status updates facebook

As you probably know by now, the Facebook homepage shows either the News Feed or Live Feed when you log in. However, what if you want to just see status updates by default when you login?

It’s easy! Just click the More link below the menu on the left hand side and you’ll see these set of grey lines next to each item in the menu. Now just click on that and drag Status Updates to the top! Now whenever you log in, you’ll see Status Updates instead of the feed.

preview word document

Did you know you can preview a Word document before you actually open it. Open Word, click on File, then Open and single click on a Word file and then go to the Views button and choose Preview. That’s it! Now you can actually see the different Word files in the Open dialog box before you open it in Word. Neat!

How to create a list in Twitter

Twitter Lists is a new feature just rolled out that allows you to create groups of people and view just the tweets from the people on that list. You can create a new list on Twitter by logging into your account and clicking on New List in the right sidebar.

Give your list a name, choose whether you want it to be public (other people can follow the list) or private, and click Create List.

Now simply go to the profile pages of the people you want to add to the list and you’ll see a new button called Lists. Just check the box next to the list you want to add them too.

Now to view tweets from people on the list only, go to your profile page and click on the list name in the right sidebar. Done!
